Trends From The Catwalk at Bridal Week 2024

Early September is a big time for the bridal industry with all eyes on Harrogate Bridal Week. Bridal Week spans over three days and is a time for new collections, catwalks, big buying decisions, networking and flowing Prosecco.

Personally, I love seeing the catwalks and spying what designers think the newest trends will be emerging into 2025. So here are my 5 top takeaways from the 2024 catwalk.

Mix It Up

Detachable sleeves, overskirts, bows, trains and capes all made an appearance on the catwalk, with lots of designers now embracing the versatility this can offer a bride. The only limitation is the imagination now with there being so many options for brides to personalise their look throughout the wedding day. And 2025 is the year to do it your way.

It's All Up Top

I was delighted to see more designers moving away from the traditional V-neck or sweetheart neckline. The 2025 collections are seeing a wide range of different gowns, with more emphasis on the higher necklines, halternecks and and all things up top. These different necklines are what will make your gown stand out from those traditionally of previous years.

Be Bold

There were feathers and frills aplenty this year with lavish textures infusing a sense of fun to the bridal look. These dresses are made to be seen, with the different elements making these gowns stand out from the crowd with a nod to couture-inspired gowns taken directly from the catwalk. These playful pieces are bold enough for the confident bride looking be centre stage.

Back To Black

It was incredible to see a new designer on the catwalk this year, that I know will find it's way. SHERBON have curated an incredible collection of black wedding dresses. This is a niche market but one which is hugely underrepresented in bridal. The LBD is no longer the only black dress in town! This nod to dark elegance is exactly what is missing, with so many designers having one or two black gowns in the collection. With SHERBON, brides will have an overwhelming choice for their wedding, which can only be a great thing for the industry.

The Mini Dress

Bridal minis have been slowly entering the mainstream market for a little while now, but this year, they were well and truly everywhere! Inspired by lots of celebrities donning a mini for their nuptials, these are going to be a big hit for brides in 2025 and be seen as a fabulous option for brides to express themselves.

For a little while now there has been a bit of a battle with dresses looking more modern, but "not bridal enough". It was so refreshing to see designers implementing fun and individuality into the traditional dress, optimising the perfect balance for the 2025 bride.
