How to Start Your Wedding Morning Off Right
You wake up - IT'S TODAY! The day you've been waiting for, the day you've been planning for. Preparing for your magical day can be a whirlwind of excitement and preparations, but plan your wedding morning routine right and you will feel radiant, relaxed, and ready to say "I do"!
Here are my 8 tips to make your bridal morning a memorable experience.
Rise and Shine, Beautiful Bride!
1. Water is your Best Friend
Begin your day with a glass of refreshing water to kickstart your metabolism and give your skin a healthy glow. Hydration is the first step towards feeling energised and radiant. Make sure you're topping yourself up with water all morning whilst getting ready. The coffee buzz isn't needed this morning. Plus, the water will help when the fizz starts flowing!
2. Take a Moment
Take a few moments for yourself. Whether it's a quick meditation session, deep breathing exercises, or journaling your thoughts, centering yourself will set a positive tone for the day ahead. The wedding day can be daunting for brides, but realigning yourself and taking it all in for a moment of peace can be calming. It's going to be a long day!
3. Eat Breakfast
Don't skip breakfast! Fuel your body with a nutritious breakfast that will keep you energised throughout the day. Opt for something light yet substantial to avoid any hunger pangs while getting ready. Most wedding breakfast are a little later in the day too, so you could have a long wait until your next meal. You don't want to be passing out on your wedding day.
4. The Perfect Playlist
Set the mood with a playlist of your favourite songs. Music has the power to uplift your spirits and create a joyous atmosphere for you and your bridal party. This is a great job to delegate to one of your bridesmaids before the big day. Make sure it's full of your favourites, allowing for a sing-a-long with your girls.
5. Comfort is Key
While getting ready, choose a comfortable robe or loungewear that will not only make you feel relaxed but also ensure that there are no last-minute wardrobe adjustments needed. Shirts or zipped jumpers are good for when you're having your hair and make up done so you can remove it easily without ruining your look. Also, remember to not wear your bra (hurrah!), watch or socks in the morning to avoid any lines and marks on your skin.
6. Delegate
Trust your bridesmaids or loved ones to handle any last-minute details. Take a moment to breathe, relax, and soak in the joy of the moment. It can be helpful to have a list of your suppliers for your bridal party to have as a point of reference, incase they need to be contacted. There's always that one friend who loves the organisation!
7. Capture the Memories
Have a photographer capture behind-the-scenes moments. These candid shots of you getting ready will be cherished memories for years to come. If your budget doesn't allow, or you just don't want another person there when you're getting ready, ask one of your bridesmaids to take lots of photos or videos for you girls to keep.
8. And Breathe
Relax. You've done an incredible job of organising this day. It's time to enjoy it. Take 2 minutes to breathe before you walk out to your family and friends, and marry the love of your life.
Your bridal morning sets the tone for the day and creates memories that will last a lifetime. By following these tips, you can ensure that your morning is stress-free, blissful, and filled with anticipation for the magical moments that lie ahead. The beginning to your happily ever after!
