"Bright & Beautiful" Wedding Inspiration

If you’ve ever wondered whether bold colour really works for a wedding, let me reassure you – it absolutely does! Our recent “Bright & Beautiful” celebration at Sissons Barn in Peterborough was designed to inspire couples who want their wedding day to feel full of joy, fun, and unforgettable energy. Think vibrant florals, confident smiles, and a whole lot of personality shining through.
With its modern, clean lines, Sissons Barn provided the perfect backdrop for a celebration full of colour and confidence. A converted barn with so much unique appeal, including the multiple ceremony spaces. My personal favourite of the outside Willow Room - think twinkly lights, wooden benches and the versatility to intertwine your wedding florals and colours to the willow itself. It was here that Rebecca Evelyn Celebrant celebrated Rachael and Lee, with a ceremony that was full of love and laughter - perfectly summing up the couple.
Inside the simple architecture, the reception space is incredibly versatile and neutral to work with all wedding themes. For this shoot, we featured heavily on the stunning flowers by Nici’s Creations, which seemed to leap from every corner – bold roses, playful dahlias, and the softest peach tones all mingling together. It wasn’t just decoration; it was a joyful explosion of love in bloom.
Then came the bride – radiant in one of our gowns from Lily Francis Bridal. Rachael adorned an empire gown by Envy by Phoenix. With light, lace sleeves and covered in a scatter of glitter which caught the sunlight at every turn. We added a delicate veil from Richard Designs that danced in the breeze.
Nichola J Make Up worked her magic, keeping everything fresh and natural with just the right touch of glamour, the kind that lasts from “I do” through to the last dance. A soft up-do with tousled curls softened the look to fit with the relaxed vibe of the venue. The soft make up tones which complimented the colourful bouquet.
Weddings are built on the little touches, and this day had them all. The invitations by Pearl and Papier gave guests the first hint of the colourful celebration to come, splashed with playful watercolour designs of orange, pink and lilac. These designs were mimicked with the table numbers and place cards.
Inside, the cake by Ambers Bakes and Cakes stood tall – a masterpiece of artistry that was almost too pretty to cut. Aligned with our "Bright & Beautiful" concept, this cake was just that. Amber created a three-tier marble effect, which was beautifully completed with some matching florals to tie in with the day.
The whole space was brought to life by Sparkle Event Styling, who tied everything together with their creative eye. Matching candles, tableware, chair covers and table runners filled the space to ensure the "Bright and Beautiful" brief was complete.
None of it would last without the memories. Francelli Photography captured every heartfelt smile and delicate detail with warmth and beauty. The images from this shoot won a Wedisson Award, and were also featured nationally on Rock My Wedding. Xiarm created stunning wedding film, capturing the movement, the laughter, the vows – everything that makes a wedding day so fleeting and so precious.
“Bright & Beautiful” is all about embracing who you are as a couple. It’s a reminder that your wedding doesn’t have to follow tradition if that’s not your style – it can be bold, modern, and full of colour, while still feeling heartfelt and meaningful.
